Shopify Speed Optimization That Focuses on Real Customers, Not Fake Scores

A perfect Lighthouse score does not sell products — pages that load fast and respond instantly for real shoppers do. I audit your store the way Google measures it: real-user Core Web Vitals, on the pages where buying actually happens.

Theme and code

What I analyze in your theme.

  • Theme code and Liquid rendering
  • Render-blocking resources
  • Excessive and unused JavaScript
  • Leftover code from apps you uninstalled long ago
  • App embeds and what each one really costs

Apps and third parties

The usual suspects, measured individually.

  • Every installed Shopify app, weighed one by one
  • Third-party scripts and marketing pixels
  • Google Tag Manager — and everything riding inside it

What customers feel

The experience, not the score.

  • Product and collection pages first — where revenue happens
  • Images and videos
  • Layout shifts while the page loads
  • Slow interactions — taps and clicks that lag
  • Mobile performance, where most store traffic lives

Aligned with Shopify's own guidance

Shopify's own performance guidance points merchants at the same suspects: the apps you have installed, any third-party code added to the store — including tag managers and the tags inside them — and your theme code. It tells you to evaluate whether each app earns back what it costs in performance, and to audit your tag manager for unused tags. It also warns that third-party scanning tools often suggest changes Shopify has already made or that do not apply to Shopify at all. That is how this audit works: every recommendation is tied to measured impact on your store, not to a scanner rule.

Process

How it works.

  1. Step 1

    Send your store URL

Plus what you are seeing — slow product pages, falling conversion, a redesign that made things worse.

  2. Step 2

    Fixed scope, agreed up front

A short call to confirm fit, then a written scope and quote before any work starts.

  3. Step 3

    Audit, walkthrough, action plan

Findings ranked by revenue impact: what to remove, what to replace, what to fix in the theme — with implementation as an optional follow-up.

FAQ

Common questions.

Will you guarantee a perfect Lighthouse score?

No — and be wary of anyone who does. Chasing a lab score can even hurt the real experience. The goal is a store that loads and responds fast for actual shoppers, measured by real-user Core Web Vitals on your product and collection pages.

What if the slowdown comes from apps we depend on?

App overhead is one of the first things Shopify itself tells merchants to examine, and it is a business decision as much as a technical one. I measure what each app costs your customers so you can decide per app: keep it, replace it, or load it differently.

Do you work with custom themes?

Yes. The audit is code-level — theme code, Liquid templates, app embeds, and the JavaScript your storefront ships — so it applies to stock themes, customized themes, and fully custom builds alike.
